In Elden Ring, you’ll find a wide range of characters that will share their plight with you, most of these will have Quests that span multiple locations. This page will detail where you can find Boc the Seamster and complete his Questline.

First Meeting - Northwest of Murkwater Bridge¶

The first meeting with Boc is arguably the easiest to miss, you may come across him yelling for help, but identifying him is another matter altogether. Head to the Murkwater Bridge and head into the grass to the northwest a little, you’ll find Boc calling out to you, but with him seemingly nowhere in sight. If you look carefully however, you’ll spot a tree that looks different to the others. Roll into this and the illusion will break, revealing Boc cowering on the ground. As thanks for aiding him, he’ll hand over everything he can spare, 10 Mushrooms.

Boc’s Quest doesn’t end there however, speak to him some more and he’ll mention that he could bring back something of actual value from the cave he was kicked out of and go on ahead.

Second Meeting - Coastal Cave¶

You’ll find the Coastal Cave to the southwest of the Church of Elleh (be sure to bring a torch along!) and once you head to the Site of Grace at the entrance, you’ll find Boc doubled up on the ground. Speak to him to learn that the inhabitants of the cave didn’t take kindly to his return. Looks like it’s up to the Tarnished to put things right for Boc, so head through the cave and you’ll face off against the Boss there, two Demi-Human Chiefs who, once defeated, will drop the Sewing Needle and Tailoring Tools.

The Tailoring Tools will allow you to alter your Armor at any Site of Grace at the cost of some Runes. This will slightly change the appearance and alter your stats. The Sewing Needle is the main reason for your visit here however, this is what Boc was looking for so return to the cave entrance and hand it over to him. Speak to him until he has nothing new to say to learn he has a renewed lease on life before departing once you leave the area.

Third Meeting - Liurnia of the Lakes¶

Once you finally make it past Godrick and enter Liurna of the Lakes for the first time, you’ll find your first Site of Grace, Lake-Facing Cliffs. When you refresh the area, you should first see Hyetta but after fulfilling her first request, refresh the area again and you should find Boc at this Grace.

Speak to him and he’ll offer to make adjustments to your armor, much like what you can already do at Sites of Grace. He’s taken to following in the footsteps of his mother and wishes to aid you as best he can. Once you progress further into Liurna, you’ll find Boc at the East Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace, and you’ll be able to speak to Melina who prompts you to speak with Boc. Unfortunately, Boc has nothing new to say at this point. Likewise, you can meet him once again at the Altus Highway Junction Site of Grace but again he will have nothing to say.

Fourth Meeting - East Capital Rampart¶

Once you reach Leyndell Royal Capital, you’ll come across the East Capital Rampart Site of Grace where Melina will take her leave. You’ll once again find Boc here but this time you’ll be able to ask him “Did you see it?” where he’ll discuss the Erdtree.

At this point, if you don’t already have it, you’ll need to go and retrieve the Gold Sewing Needle, this can be found at the Church of Vows (where Miriel, Pastor of Vows is) in Liurnia of the Lakes. Return to the Roundtable Hold at this point and visit Enia to purchase a piece of Legendary Armor (preferably a chest piece) from her.

The Gold Sewing Needle is needed to be able to alter these garments and when you return to Boc, you’ll be able to ask him “I’m sorry… and he’ll remark about the armor in your possession. At this point, you can hand over the Gold Sewing Needle and you’ll gain three new options you can speak to Boc about, your choice when asked if he can call your Lord has no impact on this Quest.

Final Meeting - East Capital Rampart¶

There are two endings to Boc’s Quest, and you must do this final step before you progress beyond the Mountaintops of the Giants or else Boc will vanish for the rest of your current playthrough.

Good Ending¶

The best outcome to Boc’s Quest requires a little more legwork as you’ll need to track down the Prattling Pate “You’re Beautiful” item in Hermit Village in Mt. Gelmir. You can find this by south from Fort Laidd to the southwest edge and following the winding path along to the east until you eventually reach the village. Once here, head through the center of the village and keep an eye on your right, you’ll spot the item outside a door here.

With this in hand, return to Boc at the East Capital Rampart Site of Grace and use the item when standing in front of him. Speak to him now and he’ll remark that he believes he heard his mother before proceeding to ask you if you think he’s beautiful, reply that you do and he’ll thank you, ending his Questline.

Bad Ending¶

This alternative ending involves you giving in to Boc’s wishes to look different and you’ll need to begin by tracking down a Larval Tear, you can purchase these from the merchants in Siofra River if you haven’t already found one. With one in hand, return to Boc and you can choose to give him the Larval Tear and exhaust his dialogue options.

Unfortunately this has a tragic outcome, return to Rennala at the Raya Lucaria Grand Library Site of Grace and you’ll find Boc, now a human, to your right. Unfortunately, he’s lost the ability to speak and when you rest at the nearby Site of Grace, you’ll find him dead, ending his Questline.
